The school year is in full-swing, and students are already anticipating one of their favorite PTA-funded social events: Ice Cream Social!! This annual event comes at the perfect time when we’ve all settled into the routines of Fall but the heat is still lingering.
This fun event is taking place on Tuesday, Sept 19th, 5:30-7pm. Ticket order forms should have arrived home in your student’s Friday folders — or you can download and print here. Be sure to order tickets ahead of time to take advantage of the short will-call line. Pizza will be served and water will be available. Bring your yellow reusable Briones cups (also available for $1 at event). Spirit Wear will be offered for sale. And of course, as always, our wonderful Briones teachers will be scooping the ice cream and providing toppings to suit everybody!
If you would like to help, please sign up on SignUpGenius. We need parents to assist with set up, ticket sales, pizza serving, ice cream serving, and cleanup. The shifts are only 30 minutes long so you will get a chance to enjoy the event as well!

Are you looking for a volunteer opportunity that is sure to give you better connections to your child’s class and to the wider school? Do you want a position that’s rewarding but has a lot of flexibility? You might be a great fit for room parent!
This is a vital position the helps facilitate communication within your child’s classroom. Much of the work is done via email and the time commitment is generally only a few hours per month, so it’s doable even if you aren’t able to be on campus during the day.
- Coordinate the communication of important school and PTA announcements and information with parents in your class.
- Act as the main point of contact for your teacher and help coordinate parent support for classroom needs.
- Organize the classroom gifts for your teacher and aide.
- Serve as the point of contact for your classroom with the yearbook committee and the Great Gatherings team.

Each session will be roughly 30 minutes, held at the drop-off at the tables outside the MP room. You’ll get an overview of the responsibilities and have an opportunity to ask questions and decide if you’d like to volunteer!

Greetings Briones Families!
As the PTA president, I would like to welcome back returning students and families! I also extend a very heartfelt WELCOME to our new BRIONES families! To all of you, I look forward to making 2017-2018 a fun and productive year.
To the PTA Executive board, committee chair leaders and all of our volunteers, I look forward to working with all of you this school year, some for the first time. I know we will have a great year because of the dedicated and amazing volunteers we have on the PTA.
The purpose of the PTA is to first and foremost support our students. Children succeed when families, schools and communities work together. In addition, the PTA supports the faculty, staff and parents. The Briones PTA is fortunate enough to support a wide variety of school events, activities and supplies/equipment. For example, the PTA sponsors all of the school assemblies that bring in great performers and educators to the kids and many exciting events such as the Ice Cream Social, Harvest Festival, Ice Skating Party, Book Fair and much more! This previous school year the PTA also purchased some new musical instruments which benefited all of the Juana Briones students.
